A little about the artists
1. The Old Smokehouse Studio 10 The Falls Rd, Yerrinbool NSW.

Carole Tyas – Textile Artist Carole’s love of colour and texture is combined with her unique interpretation of the world in quilts, bags, and wallhangings.

Leonard Metcalf - Photographer Leonard’s passion for nature is captured to perfection in his thoughtful and exquisite images

2. Bunya Studio 7 Bunya Close, Braemar NSW

Anne Thomson - Feltmaker Anne’s expertise in feltmaking is translated into a wide variety of beautiful garments that regularly win both hearts and awards.

Simon Bowley - Ceramicist Simon, a teacher at Goulburn and Moss Vale, has a passion for ceramics that are wheel-thrown and finished using was resist underglaze decoration. These produce wonderful wood-fired ceramics with an earthy feel.

Emily Mulvhill - Artist This young artist has not only exhibited regionally, she has gained international experience in Reykjavik, Iceland and is currently studying at the National Art School.

Joanna Santry - Potter Joanna is another emerging artist who loves building sculptural pieces.

Helga Muscinski –Textile Artist Working in silk and cotton, Helga’s hand painted textiles have a uniquely Australian emphasis winning a number of awards and purchased for many collections. Helga’s work includes scarves, linen tea towels and velvet cushions.

3. Sunningdale Gallery Old Hume Highway, Welby

Located on the Old Hume Hwy 6km south of Mittagong on the right, or 7km north of Berrima on the left, this delightful new gallery exhibits original works only and specialises in local artists. Ceramicist Ruth Whyte, painter Jacqui Brown and glass maker….. are among the artists that gallery owner Ester Voorwinden represents. Various artists will be onsite over the weekend.
4. Chester 52 Merrigang Street, Bowral

Robin Jeffcoat – Textile and mixed media artist. Robin is an artist of long standing, whose work includes a wide range of textile art for home decoration as well as beautifully executed paintings and other works of art.

Jean Collyer, B Sc. Hons – Textile Artist Working with fabric, paint and thread, Jean creates unique decorative pieces. A successful transition from Botanist to Textile Artist was marked by awards in the International Quilt Carnival, Nagoya, Japan 2002 and by being voted People’s Choice Artist in the Goulburn Annual Art Award Exhibitions of 2004 and 2005.

Megan Cleland – Textile Artist Using natural fibres such as wool, alpaca, mohair, silk, cashmere, angora and soy silk, Megan weaves, knits and felts these into fabric which is then made into garments, accessories and hats for the more mature figure.

Judy Nelson – Quilter Judy has a passion for bold colour and print which she uses to produce stunning quilts of traditional design and a range of very bold and useful bags.

6. Enid’s Studio 41 Sir Donald Bradman Drive, Bowral NSW

Enid Worthington – Silk Painter Enid loves the vibrant colours she creates in her hand-painted silks that she then turns into original scarves, pictures and cushions. Her work has been collected both nationally and internationally.

Marolyn Turner – Silk Painter Originally from New Zealand, Marolyn’s work which features a wide range of subject matter, has been collected widely. As well as paintings, Marolyn makes beautiful scarves, coasters, cards, cosmetic bags and a range of original clothing.

Geoff Turner – Creative Retiree Geoff has dabbled in oils, but is using this event to show his creative wood pieces and to launch his hand-crafted “Cricketmen” set which he hopes to see on every cricket-lover’s lawn.

7. Duckpond Cottage Studio 13A Hurlingham Avenue, Burradoo NSW

Margaret Connor – Feltmaker Margaret’s passion is producing felted fibre garments and functional items for interior design and household use. Natural fibres such as merino, alpaca, mohair and silk are often combined with fabrics and threads to produce light, warm, textured textiles and garments. Margaret’s scarves, stoles, wraps and jackets have become favourites of many.

Jeff Keyes – Furniture craftsman Jeff works freehand with forest “found” wood. Specialising in contemporary hardwood stick furniture, he has held solo and group exhibitions since 1989.

Norma Tome – Jeweller Working mainly in silver, Norma likes to shape sheet metal and wire to create sculptural forms and uses a variety of techniques to produce textured surfaces on die-formed pieces. Colour is added by gemstones and enamel and the inclusion of gold foil.

Judy Turner – Pastellist Having discovered her artistic abilities late in life, Judy has rapidly become one of the most collectable artists in the region. Her passion for working in pastels is realised in finely detailed images of still-life and landscape.
